Quinceanera invitations Language?   Yes, if you’re planning your quince this question is always asked. should i order my invitations in english or spanish, but there is no right answer, I guess if the mayority of your guests speak spanish then spanish is a good option.

Is it possible to order both english and spanish invitations?   Yes, but it is more expensive.  A good idea is to include both english and spanish wording on the same invite.

Should I order respond cards or RSVP cards?   Respond cards are smaller cards that go with your invitation, the wording usually in it are your contact info so that the guest can contact you and tell you if they’re attending.   These small cards usually come with a small envelope so that your guests can send them back by mail, but nowadays the cards have your phone number, email to contact you.  The main idea behind the respond cards is that, once you know how many people are attending then you can order the exact number of plates with your catering company.  These rsvp cards or respond cards look very elegant, but if you are in a tight budget then include the contact info on your quinceanera invitations.

Does the sponsor list go in the invitation?   This is up to you, but nowadays this list is bigger and therefore won’t fit on your quince invite.  Many people also include a separate sheet of paper with the list, and many people left the list for the video only.

When should I order my invitations?   If your misa and salon dates are ready then you are ready.  People usually do it two to four months in advance, time is your friend here, remember that.

Invitation with my picture?  If your quinceanera invitations have a picture, remember that if you’re sending a pix taken by a professional then you’re probably also need to send a copy of the copyright release, basically saying that they can use the picture for your invitations.  Ask your photographer for it, this sometimes delays the ordering process so, beware to have it ready.  If you took the pic yourself then don’t worry about it.

How many invitations to order?   Order 100, for a normal party, ordering less will save you pennies.  30 tables or more then order 150 to 175.    It is always a good idea to order an additional 25 invitations, because if you reorder later, the expense is %50 more.  Always ask your friend that just had a quinceanera and ask her how many invites she ordered.  If you have a bunch of padrinos then order at least 200.

Ok, if you have received a quinceanera invitation and in it it says, LLuvia de Sobres. This means that they prefer money instead of presents. I think this idea comes from south america but we’re not sure. Some people like the idea but others don’t. So what do you think, leave your comment below.

Today, let’s talk about the invitation wording for your quinceanera invitations.  Yes, you can print whatever you want on them, not just what you see on the sample.   Of course sometimes there is limited space, some invitations have a special format, and having a different text or too much text will make it look unauthentic.  The new invitations go straight to the point, abbreviating dates,  etc.

On traditional invitations, for example the date would be written like this:   March Fifteenth Two Thousand Twelve.

Modern invitations will write this date as: March 15, 2012  or just 03/15/12

I guess anything goes, just pick the format you like, our tip is if there is enough space for the more traditional format  and if you like it then go for it.    Also how about announcing where your reception or church location will be, check out the following examples.

This is the more traditional wording but sometimes is information is left out, it depends on your preference.   There is no right or wrong.

Try to avoid all uppercase letters in your quinceanera invitation wording, they just look bad, or sometimes if the font is to fancy then letters will become too unreadable.  The first letter of your name or church name, location is fine, but avoid making it all uppercase letters.  Now if your doing the invitation at home I would suggest to test the font first, check if it includes the letter ñ, this is necessary to write words such as:  Quinceañera, Quince Años, Niña, etc.   If you’re using a pc to output the letter ñ, type the following key combo: Alt + 164 at the same time.

Have ever heard the phrase “Tenida Formal”, if you see this, this means Vestir Formal, or Formal Attire in English.  This is a phrase I found on some Quinceanera Invitations from Chile.  Another lady also told me that she did not understand “Vestir Formal”, she wanted Vestir Adecuadamente, she was from Honduras, so maybe down there they don’t use that word, who knows, so if you’re from another spanish speaking country comment on other words you don’t understand or say different.

Off that topic a little bit, do you how to put the letter “ñ” or “Ñ”,  it is very easy to do all you have to do is press ALT + 164 toghether for lowercase ñ, and ALT + 165 for Uppercase Ñ.   I use windows so this will work with windows machines only, if you have a Mac or tablet it may not work.
